Book Review: Judge and Jury
As you know, I moved (again) so that means ANOTHER book on audio. This time around, we chose Andrew Gross and James Patterson’s Judge & Jury. In Judge and Jury we are introduced to FBI agent Nick Pellisante, Nicky Smiles, as he is affectionately known by the mobsters he captures. Nick has been relentlessly trying to take down the biggest mob boss of them all, Dominic Cavello. And because of one mistake, Cavello is captured. But the mob boss has plans of his own: he has hired Richard Nordeshenko, a methodical and calculating killer, to make sure the trial never concludes, and Nordeshenko carries out his plan with brutal efficiency. Pellisante is determined to make sure that the retrial isn’t similarly derailed, but Cavello has an even more diabolical plan in store the second time around.
I am a huge fan of James Patterson. His books are enjoyable and fun, they are easy to read (when I do get to read them), but moreover, they are entertainment. On a long drive, they easily take my mind off of the grueling road and keep me away. This book has some twists and turns, and it has moments of predictability, but overall, it was a pleasant distraction from a long day.
