I’m Broken, are YOU?

Ever since Adam and Eve, we have existed in a sin filled, decaying, dying world.  Even as science has manufactured our life expectancy to greater numbers, our culture continues to de-evolve.  Our humanity is slowly slipping away and our morals disintegrate with it.

We MUST focus on the fact that we are just sad, pathetic, weak creatures who seek significance in accumulating status, money, power, stuff…  These are only symptoms of a greater disease, we are broken.

“We turn our back on the old, infirm, and sick because out of sight is out of mind.”

We are just shadows the creatures, made in His image.  We are ghosts of who we once were, and our next generations are getting dimmer.  We hurt, kill, and strike fear into the very people we are supposed to love and cherish.  We abandon our children for momentary happiness.  We turn our back on the old, infirm, and sick because out of sight is out of mind.  We leave a poor legacy for our future generations.

But there is a cure.

We must acknowledge our sin and allow our Creator to heal us.  We must stand up to our failures and move forward in love and peace.  We must reconcile our sins to those whom we have hurt.  And we must get over our self-importance and realize that EVERY person is important to God.

I’m broken.  I have been for most of my life.  Many in my family and my friends are broken too.  But there is hope, true hope, in the One who was, and is, and is to come.  There is a cure for this plague that is slowing killing us all, and His name is Jesus.

Are you broken?  Please tell me your story.

Does your church have heart?

I recently visited Universal Studios Orlando and while I had a good time and enjoyed my experience, there was something missing.  There was something, intangible that I just couldn’t put my finger on it.  Until the drive home, and I passed a very familiar landmark… and I immediately realized what Universal was lacking.

Over Selling and Under Delivering

RTU I had something really amazing happen this past weekend that made me re-think about how we do church.

A couple of friends of mine and I drove over to Universal Orlando to attend the Rock the Universe event.  My main reason for going was 1. David Crowder, 2. the new Rip Ride Rockit Roller Coaster, 3. The Mummy, and 4. Terminator 3-D.

We got to Universal and the second AFTER we had gotten our wristt bands on, we were told that the new Rockit Roller Coaster was NOT OPERATING due to the RTU event.   Wait, what?  Doesn’t your advertising show the musical acts AND the ride TOGETHER? (See clickable image)
