"We have to grow up and so do our churches." Amen!

I have come to the last chapter of Quitting Church and agree with most of your assessments.

While I am frustrated with my church, the struggle comes from elders who will not stand firm in what they profess, pastors who want to "program" the church to death, the loss of the understanding of what God's holiness really means and the lack of the church understanding what it means to be the church. The church does not always know how to care for each other. It sure knows how to shoot it's own wounded, though.

Though I am not from a charasmatic background, (quite the opposite--very reformed and old-school Presbyterian) some of her insights are quite correct and really should be a wake-up call for the entire church.
