Ramblings at 1:00am
I am so pumped up, and running on adrenaline, that I cannot even think about sleeping. Something awesome happened tonight, that I have been praying/dreaming/thinking/wishing/hoping for, for over 4 years. the Acts 2 Church - Tampa held their first EVER Gathering (imagine a Bible study with a LOT of discussion, a little worship, communion, and a TON of food). It was truly amazing.
Sarah-Irene and I have been dreaming about having a Home Church in our house since BEFORE we got married. Don’t get me wrong, we have no delusions of grandeur, we don’t expect to grow a mega church out of this, but we DO expect God to bless us and it WILL grow, but I have no idea how big it will become…that’s not my problem, it’s God’s church, and He can do whatever He wants to with it.
Our focus tonight was God having a plan for each of us, and us humbling ourselves and allowing God to have control. That would allow us to get PAST our selfishness and stopping going/attending church, and start BEING the church.
What is keeping me awake, is the fact that our little home church is just over 6 hours old, and ALREADY stories are coming in from A2 members BEING the church. Here’s an example:
One of our ladies asked a question about my dog’s dog food. She didn’t want our dogs to have to each less expensive dog food because of my being out of work. So after A2, she went to the store and bought 2 HUGE bags of the best dog food on the planet, and dropped them off at the house. We talked about it after, and she is already planning the next person she is going to BE the church to.
Another guy started talking about what he was going to do to BE the church to of of his friends. And one other lady is already talking about inviting one of her friends to come next week, becasue a “traditional/established/regular” church, was NOT attractive to her.
I had very little to do with all this, but I am just excited and amazed to see what all God is ALREADY doing. I am already looking forward to next Saturday. Lookout Wesley Chapel, something life changing is happeneing!
