Sunday Night Decompress
- Today was INSANE! I got to preach today. I taught on 30 Days to Live. I spoke specifically about “Getting Your Affairs in Order.” Spiritual affairs. It was GREAT! I am amazed at what God did through me, because I had no idea where that message came from.
- My day started going south at 6:30am when Shelton called and said he was sick. So, not only is one of my best friends sick and not coming to church, he was singing most of our songs, and my ONLY available bass player. I hope he feels better, and he was truly missed!
- Then when I got to church, the Media Shout computer was on the fritz. We didn’t get it up and running until about 9:07…unfortunately, our services start at 9:00am.
- So, we changed 2 of our 4 songs, fixed both PowerPoint AND Media Shout, rebuilt the teaching slides, and got everything set up for communion in just enough time to start services.
- GOOD NEWS! Our Pastor, Greg, is coming home today from very successful prostate cancer surgery.
- Both services went very well, considering all that COULD have gone wrong.
- I simply asked God to speak through me, and He did and a mighty way.
- Sarah and I came home and CRASHED HARD!! We slept for about 3 straight hours and did not move.
- We totally missed he Boyer Wedding…and I can never apologize enough for that. Sarah and I were just emotionally, physically, and spiritually drained. When we crashed, we forgot to set an alarm.
- We got up and headed to Borders and Barnes & Noble I picked up a copy of Pagan Christianity. Looking forward to reading that!
- I also purchased my first leather bound journal. Looking forward to getting into that and writing more.
- We ate a late dinner at Giordano’s Chicago Style Pizza. OUTSTANDING!
- We got home in enough time to catch the last part of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Not my favorite, but come on…it’s Star Wars.
- Tomorrow is DISNEY DAY!!! All day at The Magic Kingdom! I will miss Florida when we move. Sarah and I have not been to Disney for a long while, and we miss it. It’s cheaper than therapy and we really act like kids – so it’s a double bonus.
- Going to go read a while and head BACK to bed. It’s been a LONG day, and a rough week.
- As soon as I know the numbers from today, I will post them, I THINK that we had around 245 adults and children. But I have no idea what the Connection Card responses were like.
Got something to say? Go for it!
We are hope that you and Sarah have a good time today at the Mouse House! Had an excellent time Saturday night. Hope that the trip home was not to bad. (But you did have cheesecake!)
Love Ya.
