Sunday Night Decompress (StonePoint Day 1)

I know that it’s been a while since I have last posted, and I will explain as soon as I can (in ANOTHER post). Let’s just say that it has been difficult to say the least. More info to come…

Here’s the list from my first day at StonePoint Church.

  • Sarah and I were very nervous, I have no idea why, it’s not like we have ever been in a new church before.
  • Everything was moving faster than I was-I guess it’s the Florida pace
  • Everything got set up, and we were off…services went on without a hitch
  • It was the last teaching from the Hell? NO!i Series. Scott did a GREAT JOB!!
  • Sarah and I were introduced to the church…I guess it’s official.
  • Next week is Mother’s Day and StonePoint is starting a 3 week series called Sex and the Suburbs.
  • After church, the Carriers, Donahues, and Whitakers went to Taco Mac (and there was MUCH rejoicing)
  • Scott showed us the storage place, we moved some equipment, and got ready for the movers on Monday.
  • Sarah’s cousin came by, I went to my Dad’s to chill for an hour.
  • We all hooked back up and Sarah and I are hanging at Panera for free wifi.
  • We’re going to head to Dad’s again for leftovers, bad TV, and then sleep.

QUOTABLE QUOTES

  • “Avoiding Hell is NOT about being good.”
  • “We, as Christians, make our relationship to God all about pleasing God or being good. But that is the means not the goal!”
  • “Avoiding Hell is a lot easier than being good.”
  • “The 10 Commandments are not about avoiding Hell, they are about avoiding Hell on earth!”
  • “Avoiding Hell is easier than being religious!”
  • “What do YOU lack in your relationship with Jesus?”
  • “You avoid Hell by exchanging the life you have for the life that Jesus has for you.”

More to come as soon as possible. I SHOULD have internet at my house tomorrow, so there SHOULD be more posts to come. I will let everyone know the story that is the MOVING EXPERIENCE. It’s been a nightmare.

I am very excited to be back in Georgia, the air is warm, and dry. The nights are a little chilly, and Atlanta NEVER looked so good. Please pray for Sarah and myself, we need some support during this transition and we are dog tired. We miss our friends, but we are making new ones, not better, but new and different.
