If a doctor told you that you only 24 more hours to live, would you spend them in the same way that spent your LAST 24 hours?
I’m not talking about “The Meaning of Life” stuff, I’m talking about the sum of all the hours of work, play, and “down” time of your life. Think about your last 24 hours. If you had to give an account for every minute, did you use all your time wisely or did you waste the precious moments that you have? Every day, each moment should count for something. If you disagree, just ask anyone who has been diagnosed with Cancer or AIDS.
The Psalmist, King David, wrote in Psalm 39:4-5, “Show me, O LORD, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is. You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Each man’s life is but a breath.”
Life often gets in the way, because we LET it. All of our meetings, tasks, and business lunches RARELY dictate themselves. WE are the ones who sign our kids up for too many activities, NOT THEM. The lives we live are based on the choices we make.
You cannot argue this truth: YOU ARE GOING TO DIE and you will be judged on how you used the time God gives you. College funds, retirement, our spouses, our children, and or jobs are all important, but NONE of them is more important than your relationship to Jesus Christ, and brining HIM honor.
How are YOU spending your time?
Does your time bring honor to God or are you waisting it?
And WHAT are YOU going to DO about it?
