I Got Everything I Wanted for Christmas

Like most Americans, I had a list of things I wanted Santa to bring me. And I can honestly say I got everything on my list that I wanted!

1. My Lovely Wife and Our Lovely Home

Sid had been really sick the week of Christmas with flu and then bronchitis, so I just wanted Sarah-Irene HEALTHY for Christmas.  She wasn’t 100%, but she was able to be up and around!  And we got to experience another Christmas in our home.  With the economy and foreclosures looming, it’s a miracle we can still make the mortgage payments!  And I did get to spoil Sarah with a few (small) presents… and I LOVE doing that!

2. I Am Surrounded by Friends and Family

We had invited everyone we knew was available to come to our house for the annual Christmas Eve Food, Fun, Fire Pit Extravaganza, and we had several great friends show up!  And Christmas Day, we got to have dinner with some of our best friends at their house.  It was truly a blessing!  Sid and I are blessed with amazing friends and family.

3. I Have A Great Job

There will be a future post about what I have been doing these last few months, but I am blessed that I have opportunities to make a living using the gifts and skills that God has blessed me with.  I will also be able to involve several friends from all over the United States in my business, so I also get to help several others in the process!  And I truly love and enjoy everything that I do.

4.  Disney

I know that it sounds crazy, but Disney brings such an amazing influence into my world: it’s excites my imagination, it challenges my expectations and leadership, and it calms me down when I am stressed and overwhelmed.  I also get to share Disney with friends and we all reap the rewards of that shared community.  And Disney give me a safe place to dream about and look forward to.

5.  I Can Sense that God is Moving in My Life

I have had many times in my life when this wasn’t a true statement, but as of today, I can say that God is doing something amazing in my life and I am sincerely looking forward to what is in store.  2009 had its share of difficulties, but I believe that 2010 will be amazing; challenging, but also amazing!

That’s pretty much it.  I got everything I wanted for Christmas.  What was the MOST important gift you received this Christmas?  Or, what was the most important gift you gave this year? I’d love to know, please leave me a comment!

I was able to see my child’s face light up every time he opened a present. That was my greatest gift. My child is also learning so much about God and Jesus Christ and it was awesome this year with him talking so much about Christmas being Jesus’ birthday. We sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and read the story out of the Bible. The best thing I could give to him this was his new full-text Bible. He is starting to read a little, and so I thought he was ready for a “real” Bible, instead of just Bible stories. We spent the day alone, and I was okay with that. I do miss my family and friends, but it was nice just spending time with Gavin. We love you guys and miss you! So happy you had a nice Christmas and that you are being blessed with all the things you are in your lives!

Great having you over this week. Wish Sid had felt better and could have made it. Don’t forget about the opportunity I told you about at New Walk!
