Miracles Part 4
The one question I was asked most often during the 10 months of unemployment was, “How are you surviving?” And the answer was: Sarah worked 7 days a week at 2 different jobs. Monday through Friday she worked as a bookkeeper, Saturday and Sunday she was a receptionist. Because of her working 7 days a week, we scraped by. Sarah is my biggest miracle.
I’ve been writing about the other amazing miracles in my life (the house, my job, my friends) and I have saved the very best for last. There is one person that I can, without a doubt, say that I could never have survived these last few months without. One person who has stuck with me through all the highs and lows, and all those dark lonely nights of worry, defeat, and despair. And that person is Sarah-Irene…my lovely bride. The greatest miracle in my life, the most amazing blessing I have, is my marriage.
While I was looking for work and volunteering at a church, Sid was working day and day out. I would clean house and cook some, Sid would come home and relax. She often cooked more than she should have, but she is a better cook than I am and it’s a stress release for her.
She has been behind me 100% – ready to pray for, encourage, and pick up, while not shy about kicking me in the butt when I needed it. She is amazing. When I would comeup with an idea, she’d be a fan and figure out a way to make it better.
And then there is Disney. I could not have picked a better wife…we both a re in love with the place. And because we have not had the funds to get our annual passes back, we’ve stolen over to Downtown Disney enough times to still keep the dreams alive. We’ve even been able to watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom…but that’s another story for another time.
She is my best friend and i would not have survived without her. She truly is a miracle from God and I am thankful for her, every day. Of the many ways that God has blessed me, she is the greatest.
