Then Joseph brought his father Jacob in and presented him before Pharaoh. After Jacob blessed Pharaoh, Pharaoh asked him, “How old are you?” And Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty.” Genesis 47:7-9
I am reading the Bible through in 2009. And today, I was reading Genesis 46 & 47. And the above passage caught me. When asked his age, Jacob, or Israel, answered, “The years of my pilgrimage are..”
The word pilgrimage means “the course of life on earth especially one to a shrine or a sacred place“. So Iask myself these questions:
- Do I view my life like I am I on a pilgrimage?
- How can I make my life a pilgrimage for Jesus Christ?
- Do have the maturity to think, in every situation, like I am on a pilgrimage with others?
- Has my entire life been a pilgrimage to Jesus or to Satan?
- Who am I honoring in my pilgrimage, Jesus Christ or myself?
Good questions…maybe you should ask yourself some of them.
