Book Review – Step on a Crack
When I travel, I usually listen to a book on audio to make the time pass. And I have listened to primarily James Patterson books. His recent offering, Step on a Crack is one of my new personal favorites. In Step on a Crack, we get introduced to Mike Bennet, a NYPD cop who is raising 10 kids and is losing his wife to cancer. It’s a gripping personal story of one man’s loss, his coping with survival, and dealing with being a widower-father of 10. During this time, a major hostage situation demands his skills and expertise. SO while his wife is dying, it’s Christmas, and there are 33 people whose lives hang on the ability for Mike to deal with this amazing amount of stress.
What I love about James Patterson, who is joined by author Michael Ledwidge, is his ability to weave an intricate, and extremely heart wrenching story to an exciting and compelling “who dunnit?” Step on a Crack is truly a roller coaster ride: at one moment you are scared of a hostage situation, and then you are crying along with the effects of cancer. It’s great story and worth your time. It makes you appreciate your life and all the people you have in your life.
