Sometimes, Creativity is SLOW

It’s been a wild week, and very long one as well.  I have recently taken on the cretive duties for the worship stuff here at StonePoint.  So, I have neglected this site as a result.  Is it just me, or when you are HAVING to be creative, it seems to come slower than when you are “inspired”?

For context purposed, I basically handle all Connections duties for StonePoint.  In short, I ensure that every person who visits has every opportunity possible to progress from a 1st time visitor, to a fully engages partner of the church.  And there are several steps, opportunities, and tasks that go alone with that.  I send a lot of letters and hand-written cards, as well a manage volunteers and leaders who fall under the Connections umbrella.  It’s a GREAT job, and I LOVE what I do.  Another aspect of what I do, is to manage the Website, and blogs for the church.  Not to mention, try to keep content fresh on this site.

Recently, I also took on some Creative Arts responsibilities as well.  I help with the creation and implimentation of all services and events, as well as helping maintain our web-based resource called Planning Center Online.  Another cool aspect of my new responsibilites, is that I get to create all the videos for the teaching series, online promos, and other video and picture needs for the church.  Needless to say, my video editing and Phoshop skills have come a long way in a SHORT time.

Butone thing that I have noticed lately, is that when I am INSPIRED by some thought or idea, I seem to be able to just pour it all out VERY quickly. But here lately, when I am trying to be creative for work, it justs takes FOREVER!

Why is that?  Am I the only person who has noticed this?  Or am I just crazy?  Comments would be appreciated.
