Sunday Night Decompress

  • I know that the updates have been really few and far between.  It’s been a real whirlwind and I barely have enough time to think, let alone blog.  I will be updating more and more as the week goes on.  I have a lot of stories to tell.
  • This morning SID and I visited Common Ground Church in Tampa.  Danny Schaffner and his crew are doing an awesome job in an inner-city, multi-ethnic congregation.  It was great; a lot of fun and a really great message.
  • Sid and I drove our favorite stretch of road home – Route 301 (Morris Bridge Road).  It has a lot of big willow trees with Spanish moss in them.  It reminds us a lot of Savannah.
  • It was then that we realized:  THIS is what “normal” people do on a Sunday morning: they get up, go to church, and then go home.  No stress, no craziness, no worries about other people.  It was very refreshing.
  • We got home and finished unpacking the laundry room and started to finish the kitchen and living room.  Very slowly, we getting unpacked and our house is starting to look like our house again!
  • We watched our beloved Falcons lose to the Saint.  Good game, but I hate that we lost by 4 frikkin’ points!
  • And then, it was nap time.  :-)
  • We’re running to the grocery store and then dinner, and more football.

Weekly Look Ahead

  • The job search continues.  I have some discussions/lunches with a couple pastors and some other opportunities to inquire into.
  • Sid and I are going to continue to unpack the house.
  • Monday Night will bring out FIRST Monday Night Football Bible Study – actually this first one is more just getting together with some friends and watching the Bucs.  But there WILL be a devotional sometime before the game (or at half-time).
  • Tony, Amanda, and Jacob Moran are in FL at Disney and Sid and I are driving to Orlando one day this week to spend time with them and spend time at Downtown Disney (our passes ran out, and until we get jobs, we can’t afford passes….YET!)
  • Sunday we will be visiting City of Faith.  We are excited to get to experience local churches and meet new pastors.  I am excited to see what Frankie Ammons is up to in New Tampa.
