Happy Birthday @OfficeJunkie07

There are few people in my life that I have TRULY let in.  My immediate family, my wife, my brothers Dave, Rich and Lou (neither blood relatives), and then there is Michelle, otherwise known as @officejunkie07.

Michelle (Dave’s wife) and I met when I started working at CrossRoads Community, and I knew that the Ness’ and the Donahue’s were going to be a force to be reckoned with!

Michelle soon took on the mantle of Admin for the church, and we grew even closer.  The running joke, with Sarah’s approval, was that Michelle was my ‘Church Wife.’  She was one of the few people, other than my wife, who could easily second guess me.

We easily moved from friend to co-worker and back again and she even let me show her a few things about graphic design and multi-media.  All of which se soon surpassed my abilities.  Michelle was even the Voice of CrossRoads!

Dave and Michelle have grown so close to Sid and I, that when we moved to Georgia, they started to discuss moving up with us.  Luckily we moved BACK to Florida, and no one had to sell a house!

Michelle is a great mom, and an awesome wife.  She is one of my best friends and I have no idea what my life would have been like, had she and Dave not been in it.  We’ve laughed together, cried together, weathered some very difficult storms, and seen some amazing sunrises and sunsets.  We’ve even shared Taco Mac, chicken and waffles, and the Marietta Diner!

This past Spring, I got the honor of baptizing Michelle and Dave.  They had been believers for a long time, but they felt that they wanted me to baptize them.  What an amazing honor!

I always know that I can count on Michelle for advice, a friendly ear, and a lunch partner for Vallartas.

Happy birthday, my friend.  I hope that your day is a gift to you and that God blesses you and keeps you, and makes His face to shine upon you!

Weekend Decompress (Monday Edition)

  • I apologize about the lack of any updates in a while, but I have been getting my can kicked my a cold/flu bug that has had me not sleeping and coughing all night and day.  I am starting to feel myself, more everyday, so by week’s end, I should be back to “normal”.
  • I received an amazing privilege on Wednesday of last week…Dave and Michelle Ness, part of the A2 Posse, decided that they wanted to follow in Believer’s Baptism.  WAY COOL…in many senses.  It’s awesome to be a part of a Christ Follower’s decision to get baptized AND the water was VERY cold.  Pictures will be coming shortly.  It was awesome.
  • I played at my old church for Good Friday and Sarah-Irene ran sound.  Yes, it WAS awkward, and yes, we were very welcomed by a lot of our old friends.  As for the old NON friends…well, let’s just say, ………
  • Anyway, Saturday was the Acts 2 Tampa cook-out.  We had a BLAST cooking all sorts of meats and sides.  I made 2 back explosions, a fire pit, a few drinks, and good time was had by all.
  • Sunday, Easter morning, I played drums at Common Ground Tampa.  I love Danny Schaffner and Common Ground.  They are an inner-city church that is really doing a lot of things right.  It was fun and I look forward to playing there again, very soon.
  • Sid is working a church conference in California all this week, so I am bach’ing it.  It sucks, I miss my wife, but I am very glad she is hanging out with some old friends, and doing what she loves.
  • I will say that her flights to Atlanta and Los Angeles were very eventful.  She met a few famous folks: WWE Superstars Cody Rhodes and Beth Phoenix and Good Eat’s Alton Brown.  Yes, she got me autographs, and yes, I am jealous…but happy for her!
  • For the most part, if I wasn’t somewhere, I was in bed and medicated (Props to Nyquil), so I haven’t been blogging, Twittering, Face Booking, or any other Social Networking…but I am alive and feeling better.

WEEKLY LOOK AHEAD

  • I have on good authority that I am 1 of 4 candidates for a full time job. It’s not a church job, and I am very excited about that.  I look forward to working during the week and working for God non-occupationally.
  • I need some prayers and good thoughts ALL DAY on Tuesday – the HR Department is meeting and deciding which direction they want to go…please pray that they come my direction.
  • INC-Tampa is meeting on Tuesday, so I’m taking all the A2 Posse that is available, down to the most amazing group of church leaders in Tampa!
  • Sid gets back on Friday, so I am looking forward to her return.
  • Acts 2 Tampa starts studying through the book of Acts (appropriately) on Saturday, and then I’ll be at Common Ground on Sunday…Good times!
