Weekend Decompress

FRIDAY

  • Friday was sort of a busy day of finishing projects and starting a new one.
  • A buddy of mine wants me to set up a blog for him, that’s fun and exciting, a new experience.
  • I drove down to Common Ground to finish the multi-media needs for the weekend service, the air was off…and it was hot!
  • After I finished that, I headed home to pick up Sid to go to Movie Night with the Common Ground crew.
  • We went to see Night at the Museum: Battle for the Smithsonian.  It was really good: funny, entertaining, and enjoyable.
  • Sid and I came home and crashed.
  • I finished Hurt Yourself.  Great book, fun to read.

SATURDAY

  • Woke up, did some blogging, Twittering, and watched some TV.  GOOD EASY Saturday.
  • I finally got around to cleaning up the kitchen and then…
  • I started unpacking all the boxes hidden in my closet.
  • I tossed almost half of it, and put the rest away…we are almost completely unpacked…God help us to stay where we are!
  • I stopped long enough to see Brad Keselowski win the Nascar Nationwide 200 from Dover – great ending, but I feel a bit bad for Legano and Busch.  otherwise, awesome end to a good race.
  • After cleaning my office up from the mess I had made…I needed some food and get ready for Sid to come home after work.
  • She has been killing herself with 7 days a week hours for the last 3+ months.  She is amazing.
  • I have applied for a few jobs with some connections I have..and I am in a holding pattern, as usual.
  • Some reading, and then sleep.
  • I started reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance - eclectic book, but so far a really enjoyable storyline.

SUNDAY

  • 6:30 was a little early, but I woke up and hit the showers…ready to attack the day!
  • I got to Common Ground and prepped the Tech Booth for the volunteers and got ready to play drums.
  • Adam Everett, our Youth Guy led worship…He has a GREAT voice and did a really good job.
  • Danny Schaffner brought is as he started the Summer at the Movies series with X-men: Origins.
  • After church, I sat through the New Community Class (new members) – it was awesome to see so many people want to get involved with Common Ground – I cannot wait to see what God does through Schaffner and his team! I am grateful to be a part of it!
  • Danny and I drove all over the area shooting some video for some upcoming Mission Trips…as soon as I edit them, I will link to them.
  • Sid beat me home and after a quick nap (me) – we headed over to some friends for dinner and hanging out.
  • We hadn’t seen them in a while, and I enjoyed re-connecting with them.
  • Sid and I came home and I started editing and finished this post.

WEEKLY LOOK AHEAD

  • This will be one my busiest weeks since becoming unemployed…how ironic??….
  • I have some video projects to finish and a web blog to set for a friend.
  • I also have about 3 or 4 jobs that need some MAJOR follow – please pray that SOMETHING lands ASAP!
  • I am also looking forward to a webinar from Zig Ziglar’s company about leadership – should be fun.
  • And we’ll be finishing the decorations for the Summer at the Movies series.  We didn’t get everything done the way we wanted, so we fix it…it’s an 8 week series…it’s worth the work.
  • Sunday, Danny Schaffner talks about 17 Again – No Regrets.  I cannot wait to hear what he has to say.
