“Whoo!” – Ric Flair
If you have ever seen Ric Flair, you have heard his trademark phrase. “Whoo!” It pumps up the crowd, it psyches out his opponents, and it is signature Ric Flair. So much so that it has become synonymous with his signature move, the chop. It’s a karate-type chop across the chest, and when it happens, the entire crowd resonds with a loud, “Whoo!”…even if the person doing the chopping is not Ric Flair. “Whoo” has transcended Flair, the WWE, WCW, and become a trademark.
“Whoo” is an expression of excitement, confidence, and joy. Ric Flair has no qualms with doing whatever it takes to entertain the fans. He will do his signature Flair strut, shred every garment of his clothing, and run around like a madman, all to the delight of some of the most finicky people on earth, wrestling fans.
When King David brought the Ark of the Covenant back to the City of David, he danced like a wild man. As he was doing this, he was watched by Michal, the daughter of Saul, who David succeeded as king. She was very disgusted by what David was doing. And when David returned home to bless his household, Michal said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, disrobing in the sight of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!”
David responded by saying, “It was before the LORD, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the LORD’s people Israel – I will celebrate before the LORD. I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor.” And it would appear that God judged Michal because she had no children to the day of her death.
You see, here’s the connection between King David and Flair, they both celebrated, and celebrated often. David has just sinned so bad that one of his closest friends had died. God forgave Him, and redeemed him. And David danced, celebrated, and became undignified. When Flair celebrated, he certainly became undignified.
The encouragement is to never take ourselves too seriously and realize that a relationship with God brings NEW life. We should celebrate and celebrate often. We should not concern ourselves with anything than anyone thinks and become undignified in our worship, in our service, and in our day to day lives.
Do YOU take yourself too seriously?

Great story!! It reminds me that we are all made to worship. All the time. No cares about what others here may think. Fat Peace,
True. You need to read my review of Pagan Christianity, then go buy a copy!! I think that you may be called, but I would love for you to go in eyes wide open. And allow God to really work in your life.
I will work at “WHOO”! Great comparison.
I just write what I feel God telling me. Just remember, when you “Whooo!” make sure you hold your hands in the 4 Horsemen, 4-finger salute. Do you remember “the Juicer”?
So proud of the wonderful talented man you are, and happy for your blessing of Sarah-Irene.
